Stays true to "Great People, Great Camping". Wanda at the front desk is so kind and helpful. The landscaping is kept well and there is lots of wildlife. Bathrooms are clean and the view is incredible! Next to a train track and a beautiful hilly area.
Convenient, decent price. Constant trains all night that shake the ground next to you. Perfect stay to get a feel for historic westward expansion.
We've stayed at a lot of KOA campgrounds and we will not return. The cost was the highest and grounds the worst. I wish owner's would make rounds and see what we mean. Seligman is quite the tourists designation and with right management would be a family favorite. Our campsite was cigarette butts and beer caps and the park had not rake leaves or do anything. When leaving at 10:52 AM we went to dump our trash and it was locked.
These places have everything however not as much as I remember from when I was a child. People don't seem to use these KOA's like they did in the 1970's & 80's, back when I remember they offered a pool, wonderful showers and plenty of hook ups for your camper/RV. The crowds also made it fun back in the day, however you don't see that anymore as I believe people look for free places to park and don't pay for the services of what KOA once offered. Nice and clean, secure, plenty of options to set up and park.
We left Rico CO at 2:30am, for our trip home to CA. We passed a beautiful wooded RV park in Flagstaff to drive a bit further into AZ for our long trip home (this was our mistake)..I called an hour or so in advance to "reserve" space at the KOA in Seligman, and was told that I needed to reserve my spot with a credit card (which was extremely difficult to do with spotty service on the road, but since I didn't want to spend the night parked on a street somewhere I thought it was best.) When we arrived, after having been on the road for 8 hours, the park seemed to be practically empty...not just of trees or any shade whatsoever, but rigs. (was it really necessary for me to extend my credit card details on the phone with spotty reception, when I was less than an hour away, and very few of the spots had been filled?) The two ladies working at the front desk were at each other's throats, bickering back and forth like an old married couple about "how things were explained to customers, etc", and one of them even abruptly reached for the material the other one was showing me to straighten it on the counter...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL When I asked if their camp store sold wine, I was blasted with a comment from one of them that she'd "sure like to see people drink alcohol and drive these 2 ton rigs"...and no, they didn't sell wine. A few days later, I found out that the credit card I used at their park (I seldom use this credit card, and this was the last place I used it) was compromised, and someone has been on a spending spree with it. Maybe just a coincidence, but we will not be back to the Seligman KOA
